What is your opinion on installing thermostatic plugs in the three intake chambers that go into the head on the 4620? We are concerned that it will get too hot with the intercooler just above it.
One is enough at the air intake. The tractors I have them on work fine with a 14 second warm-up, and then while on, it starts the engine by sucking in the heated air until the engine starts. It is best to have a small tank to hold the fuel that powers the thermostart unit, if they are starving that is what burns them. Used correctly there will be no problems even with an intercooled-equipped engine.
